Note:
We are currently redesigning and updating our webpage, which
will also include TBG Foundation's recently established Kosova
Educational Exchange Center - the first of its kind in the
country.
We
would like to also thank the United States Agency for
International Development - USAID Kosovo, for providing TBG
Foundation with a grant that helps us cover part of our administrative
expenses.
We hope
to have the redesigned and updated site up and running by October 2008.
In the
meantime, feel free to check out the current site and keep in touch.
Thank
you,

Honest
and open communication is key to progress and understanding. Whereas,
progress and understanding are our way forward make us dream to be
what we may think we cannot be, but we truly can. The power of an
individual is the power of the world. But, the power of the world depends
on the power of the individual.
Tony Bislimi
Dear friend,
Welcome to the official website of The Bislimi Group, a
not-for-profit organization and foundation, founded by Mr Faton Tony
Bislimi, a dedicated native of Kosova, who has been studying and living in
the United States since 2001.
The purpose of this site is to publish interesting articles written by
Tony Bislimi, most of which are published by Albanian dailies in the
Balkans and Western Europe such as Bota Sot, and in North America
by Illyria, and also to establish a broader base of support for the
ambitious and encouraging projects that the Group is pursuing or wants to
pursue in the future.
While most of Tonys writings are in Albanian, we will be publishing
some that he has written originally in English on our Publications page.
But, more importantly, the creation of The Bislimi Group comes as a need
to help Tony in his mission to make a difference in his country by
providing better educational opportunities for his Kosovar colleagues. He
is a strong believer that quality education is key to building a
prosperous nation and country.
Our Mission

Therefore, the Groups mission is to help in the realization of ideas,
projects, and ambitions that are based on or in support of quality
increase and diversity in education, humanity, and social understanding,
which bring about public benefits for the society, and which may come from
either individuals or other various subjects.
In a few words, the mission of the Group is to help in making
dreams come true for those who dare to dream that they can make possible
even the impossible.
In accordance with its mission, The Bislimi Group will be implementing the
Education for Peace Scholarships Program, established and graciously
hosted by Texas Lutheran
University.

THE EDUCATION FOR PEACE
SCHOLARSHIPS
PROGRAM
Building Kosova's Prosperous and
Peaceful Future Through Quality Education

The Education for Peace Scholarships Program (EFP)
was initiated by Tony Bislimi, a TLU alum ('05), currently pursuing a
graduate degree at Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of
Government, as a Kennedy Fellow. The EFP program aims at establishing
scholarships for Kosovar students at American universities. The first
university to have risen up to this challenge is Texas Lutheran
University (TLU), which has decided
to provide two full-tuition and two half-tuition scholarships to
Kosovar students.
For supporting this program and its further growth, The Bislimi Group is
grateful to a group of friends and supporters and believers in Tony's
public service work who have helped in establishing the Group, and will
continue to help with managing and implementing the EFP Program.
The Bislimi Group will soon publicly announce in Kosova the opening of the
competition for these scholarships, so that all qualified Kosovar students
are given a fair chance to apply and compete. It is the objective of the
program to give the scholarships to the brightest of the bright in Kosova.
The only way towards true peace, stability and prosperity in the war-torn
Kosova is through good quality education. The Bislimi Group and Tony are
more than thankful to TLU for having stepped up to this challenge and this
wonderful project. Tony also remains thankful to his beloved Houston
family and the Kinsmen Lutheran congregation for their continuous support,
love, and caring. It is in this spirit, and based on his personal
experience that has changed his life, that Tony has decided to work hard
on this program.
The program is planned to continue for years to come. We hope to expand
the program by approaching other universities like TLU to become host
institutions for these young, brilliant Kosovars.
It is noteworthy to say that TLU has now become a very important part of
Kosova's future. By deciding
to provide these scholarships, TLU is helping build a better future for
Kosova and its people. And, Kosovars will remain thankful forever.
