The
Education for Peace
Scholarships Program at Texas Lutheran University
2008-2009

Applicant:
The
Bislimi Group, a not-for-profit organization, is proud to be managing the Education
for Peace Scholarships Program,
which was initiated and founded by the Groups founder and president, Mr
Faton Bislimi, a graduate of Texas Lutheran University
(TLU).
The EFP Scholarships will be granted and hosted by Texas Lutheran
University, one of the top quality liberal arts private universities in
the United States, as ranked by the US
News and World Report. The objective of this program is to help
young and talented Kosovars reach their dreams of earning an American
quality higher education. The program aims at enabling a few brilliant
Kosovars to earn an undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor
of Arts) at Texas Lutheran University in the field of study of their own
choice.
As a scholarship recipient, you will be given the chance to attend TLU on a full-tuition scholarship. The EFP Scholarships
Program is offering three full-tuition scholarships
for the academic year 2008-2009 at
TLU. Scholarships are renewable till graduation from TLU, not exceeding
five academic years of full-time studying. While the scholarships cover
most of the expenses associated with studying at TLU, room and board
(living expenses) are left uncovered. In this regard, The Bislimi Group is
actively seeking other sources of potential funding for the selected
Education for Peace Scholars. In support of this program, members of the
Kinsmen Lutheran Church of Houston will be doing their best in providing
EFP Scholars with some in-kind and/or financial support to help cover some
of their living expenses while at TLU, and also to help them more easily
adapt to their new life away from home.
We encourage all qualified individuals to apply bearing in mind the
limited number of scholarships we are offering. Each applicant will be
evaluated based on the information and relevant and required documentation
they provide along with their application. An interview will also be
conducted in Prishtina. Based on a thorough and careful review of the
application materials and the interview performance, The Bislimi Group
will write a recommendation to TLU Admissions Committee for each
interviewed candidate. The final decision on admission and scholarship
awards, however, rests with the TLU Admissions Committee.
Each applicant is expected to meet all of the core EFP Scholarships
Program requirements as well as TLU admissions requirements for
international freshman or transfer students. Make sure that you carefully
review all the requirements before you decide to apply.
Besides completing an EFP Scholarship Application, you are also required
to complete a TLU Application for Admission. Both applications are to be
turned in together with all of the required documents, such as
transcripts, letters of reference, essays, etc. Please make sure you turn
in your completed EFP Scholarship Application and TLU Application for
Admission to The Bislimi Group office in Prishtina by no later than
JUNE 30, 2008.
You are strongly encouraged to turn in your completed applications
as early as possible to avoid any delays with your US visa documents,
provided you are awarded an EFP Scholarship and decide to attend TLU.
You will soon find the EFP Scholarship Application and a detailed list of
required documents on our website. You may obtain a hard copy of the TLU
Application for Admission and and one EFP Scholarships Application from
our office in Prishtina as well. Please

arrange for a hard copy pick up.
